Baku Airport Terminal Guide (GYD)

Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport (GYD) operates its international flights from the award-winning Terminal 1, opened in 2014 and famous for its striking design — a light-filled hall dotted with timber "cocoons" housing cafés and shops. It handles all arrivals and departures under one roof, split into a landside zone (open to anyone, with check-in, car-hire desks, ATMs and cafés) and an airside zone past security, for passengers with a boarding pass.

Landside you will find check-in desks and kiosks, the arrivals hall with the taxi rank, ride-hailing pickup and the H1 bus stop just outside, car-rental desks, ATMs and currency exchange, cafés and free Wi-Fi.

Airside

Once through passport control and security you reach the airside area with duty-free and shops, food and drink, and a lounge near the gates. Leave a little time to browse after screening.

Getting around

The terminal is modern and easy to walk. Follow the overhead signs (Azerbaijani and English) for check-in, gates and baggage reclaim. For accessibility or special assistance, arrange it with your airline in advance. See our full airport guide for parking, lounges, food and services.
